Finally getting some time to go back and blog some sessions from last year and excited to start off with this super fun, Chickakoo Lake engagement session I did with Sarah and Mackenzie (and their pup Gretzky!). This pup was so much fun, he really brought us a ton of action and laughs. If you didn’t know, the way to my heart is always bringing your pets along for your photos! I love animals so if you’re ever wondering if they can tag along and join the fun, the answer is yes!

The timing couldn’t have been more perfect for us to get together for this engagement session. The weather, colours and leaves were amazing! Fall is always such a short season for us here in Alberta and timing an outdoor engagement session perfectly can be challenging sometimes. This was my first time getting to explore Chickakoo Lake and what a gorgeous place it is. I always like to give my clients a few of my favourite location recommendations for their sessions, but I am always up for exploring new places as well. If there is somewhere near and dear to your heart that you’d like in your photos, I am down! Chickakoo Lake was Sarah and Mackenzies idea for their engagement session as it is a place they like to take Gretzky for walks. There are so many nice spots to take photos here, so we were able to get a really great variety of images for their gallery. The cute little dock right on the lake was my favourite.

As we started to lose the light we headed back to the Chickacoo Lake Recreation parking lot and finished up the session taking some awesome photos with Mackenzies truck. We shot right until dark and those last minute images ended up being some of my favourite.

If you’re looking for a beautiful place for your engagement session, to walk trails with your pup or even to sit around a little fire pit next to the lake with your family I definitely recommend checking Chickakoo Lake out.
