Hello, I’m Sara
I’m the owner of Jane Rose Photography.
My photography journey began in Edmonton, Alberta in 2016 after the birth of my first daughter. It was then when I noticed her slight changes throughout the time of taking her photos that inspired me to start taking photos for others. I began offering my services early 2017 and from there I focused on intimate maternity, newborn and family storytelling photography. As a mother myself, motherhood has always been at the forefront of my passion. It's definitely where my heart is meant to be.
Nothing inspires me more than motherhood and the good, the bad, and the ugly.
I still look back and post old photos to this day, reminiscing those sweet memories of growing my own babies and my own body’s transformation.
I have several times not felt at home in my own body, but having this business has transformed me and has given me the recognition to see myself in a whole new light.
If you already know me, you know that taking photos of my own motherhood journey has always been very important to me.
I have been told that I am approachable, open-minded to motherhood, and a master at making others feel comfortable. I have what you would say is a “mother’s touch”.
It’s my hope to show you that motherhood, pregnancy and postpartum can be so, so beautiful, and each phase of your life and your little one’s is worth capturing. This time is fleeting, so let’s cherish it.
It is why I have made motherhood sessions a truly sincere passion today. I want other mothers to experience the same documentation I had, and recognize the immense value it can bring to their journey.

Sara took motherhood photos for me this year and they are truly magical.
I will cherish these photos forever. These images will be an amazing keepsake for my daughter when she is older. Sara is able to capture the emotions and connections you have with your loved ones in a meaningful and beautiful way.

I’ve booked numerous shoots and have loved working with her every time! She is so comfortable to shoot with, amazing at giving direction if you aren’t the “photoshoot” type person, and she is so good with kids. Her beautiful client closet which takes the stress off shopping for the perfect outfit as well as her obvious beautiful images and editing style. Photos were returned timely and she was of course professional, warm and kind in person. We are thrilled with our final images and so happy to have made the investment in capturing the fleeting moment of our tiny newborn.
I fell in love with Sara’s work the minute I saw it!
I immediately knew she was the one I wanted to capture my pregnancy and the early days of our son. She did not disappoint! Her work is breathtaking.
